MANAGEMENT AND GOVERNANCE
MSO (Management Online Support) – MSO NGO services provides a range of online services for non-government organisations (NGOs) to assist them with governance, management, administration and general operations. Currently, our main service is the MSO Subscriber Service – a website providing resources, downloadable tools and templates, self directed training programs, organisational development programs and a confidential advice service.
NonProfit Q&A allows non profits to ask and answer questions on all aspects of management at no cost. Experts monitor this site to answer questions using a powerful search and tag function.
Our Community – incorporates comprehensive resources related to strong organisations, encouraging good practice in everything from fundraising and social marketing to risk management and governance. The Our Community site has downloadable factsheets on a range of Board and Governance issues. The Our Community site also step through the essentials on financial issues such as GST and taxation for community groups, such as when tax is due, and what taxes you can get concessions on, as well as fundraising, budgeting and business planning.
Not-For-Profit Network – provides information for Associations, Charities, Unions, Community and Social Services, Arts and Culture, Sports, Philanthropic, Religious and other Not-For-Profit organisations in the Australiasian Not-For-Profit Sector. Subscription to their various services comes at difference levels, but their email bulletins and online forums are free.
ACOSS – The Australian Council of Social Service is the peak council of the community and social services sector.
We are the national voice for the needs of people affected by poverty and inequality. ACOSS develops and promotes socially, economically and environmentally responsible public policy and action by government, community and business.
Operating for over 50 years, ACOSS supports non-government organisations that help low income and disadvantaged Australians. Through our network of National Members, ACOSS links community and welfare services in every corner of Australia.ACOSS Modern Award Program provided support to community sector employers to transition to the modern award.

INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS
Jobs Australia – Jobs Australia is the national peak body for not-for-profit organisations that assist unemployed people to get and keep jobs. The network helps members to make the most effective use of their resources and promotes the needs of unemployed people for the services and support that will help them to participate fully in society.
NT Chamber of Commerce (HR Advance) – HR Advance is a comprehensive library of fully customisable HR documents including contracts, policies, forms, correspondence and checklists. All documents come with extensive notes on their use and application.
NT Working Women’s Centre – The NT Working Women’s Centre provides free and confidential advice to women about work related matters. The Centre particularly targets services to those in a disadvantaged bargaining position, insecure and low paid work. The NT Working Women’s Centre provides information, advice and referral for NT women about work related issues such as: pay, working conditions, unfair dismissal, superannuation, discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying.
Fair Work Australia – is the national workplace relations tribunal. It is an independent body with power to carry out a range of functions relting to the safety net of minimum wages and em,ployment conditions, enterprise bargaining, industrial action, dispute resolution, termination of employment and other workplace matter.
FINANCES
The Australian Tax Office – has specific resources for Not-For-Profit organisations. You can also call to talk to an operator at the Not-For-Profit Hotline which is 1300 130 248.

Our Community East Grants newsletter – a subscription service with a comprehensive listing of grants available to community organisations from all sources – government and philanthropic.
The Community Funding Centre – provides free help sheets, services, newsletters, books and training to help community groups improve their fundraising abilities and become healthier and more viable.
