Improved Services Project - Alcohol and Other Drugs
NTCOSS has been provided project funding by the Department of Health and Ageing under the Improved Services Project.
The Improved Services Initiative is a national project which aims to build the capacity of non-government drug and alcohol organisations to effectively treat comorbid substance use and mental health disorders.
There are two components to the Improved Services Initiative.
- Capacity Building Grants Program for NGO AOD organisations. In the Northern Territory five non-government organisations were successful in obtaining these grants. These were, Banyan House, Salvation Army, Amity Community Services, Catholic Care NT and NPY Women's Council in Alice Springs.
- Cross Sectorial Support and Strategic Partnership (CSSSP) project. NTCOSS received funding to coordinate a Territory wide approach to the project. NTCOSS works closely with grant recipients to provide support in four key areas; building partnerships and linkages, service improvement activities, identifying workforce development and training opportunities and disseminating targeted information and resources.
