Child and Family
The Child and Family Project was established as a result of the inquiry into Child Protection and the "Growing them strong together" report. The aim of this project is to build collaborative relationships between the Department of Families and Children and the community sector and together design a new service system which has the capacity to prevent child abuse and neglect by better supporting vulnerable children and families. This project will assist in identifying the roles, capacity and resources needed by community organisations, in particular Indigenous organisations in a new child protection system. There will be a specific focus on the Territory Growth Towns. The project started at the beginning of October 2010.
